I wanted McCarthy because I liked what I've seen from him so far this year. Otherwise, yeah, I'd have gone for a 1st rounder and would have ended up only getting the 1st round pick from Rockies cause he's so cheap.

No explaination needed. The trade was made and I'm just viewing my opinion that I would never have made the deal and if I was on the committee would never have approved it. I wanted McCarthy because I liked what I've seen from him so far this year. Hey, you proposed the deal to me, I never counted out a 1st rounder, you never asked for one.

I do not like this trade at all, but it is official, so there is nothing i can do. You guys need to make better trades. The only bad thing that is hurting the league is the trades. Please only accept a trade if you like it 100% and you know 100% it will be approved

Alright, that makes sense. Should we lower the veto thing to 2? 2 Vetoes cancels a deal to crack down on trades? I'd agree with that.

How about certain owners stop taking advantage of other owners instead and just make good, quality trades that benefit both teams? Alright, that makes sense. Should we lower the veto thing to 2? 2 Vetoes cancels a deal to crack down on trades? I'd agree with that.

how can you ask people to not make a lopsided deal in their favor when presented with the opportunity? the ONLY reason a trade should be vetoed is if collusion is suspected. lopsided trades happen and you cant stop them.
also, a trade committee would be a horrible idea.

So letting a lopsided trade go through is good for the benefit of the league? Pretty stupid. how can you ask people to not make a lopsided deal in their favor when presented with the opportunity? the ONLY reason a trade should be vetoed is if collusion is suspected. lopsided trades happen and you cant stop them. also, a trade committee would be a horrible idea.

I can't believe some of the coments from owners who say that a trade like this is o.k. to go through. Trades like this ruin teams and cause owners to drop out. Teams can get stacked. Other teams can get decimated. Then owners get disinterested and drop out leading to constant turn over. If there was more emphasis on vetoing trades like this then there is a chance that more teams could be competitive thus cutting down on turnover, etc.

yeah i completely agree, i usually was consistently the only one vetoing questionable deals but not then others come in and say, approve both owners agree..
so m's if two teams agree on a deal like this would you approve?
pujols/lincecum for james loney and gio gonzalez..

What is the official saying? I dont think this trade should be allowed since it is so bad. This will hurt the league
