Arizona Diamondbacks
Team Summary: Let me start out by saying this team is in the rebuilding stage after having a horrible year in 2011. This team has helped themselves by taking a franchise SS and a great catcher in the first few rounds of the dispersal draft. So now I'm thinking to my self is this team a contender or pretender... there offense is the real deal just don't know the Dbacks can keep up in the AVG category. I would say this team is 2 years away from becoming a contender as they have little to no pitchers, but you never can rule them out as this owner does like to trade as he has already made one this off-season trading away bobby boochering and josh collmenter to the marlins in exchange for jonny cueto I thought it was a good deal
Team grade: C-
Cincinnati Reds
Team Summary: I wanna start out by saying wow another owner who knows how to draft a dynasty team, this owner got a lot younger using all of his picks up to date to get four guys under the age of 27. I think this team is also a few years away from competing, only because he has to many holes at starting pitching.
Team grade: D
San Francisco Giants
Team Summary: This team is a wreck they have so many holes at starting pitcher and no offense aside from Justin upton and kendry marales if he can even stay healthy. This team has a very good farm system thats all this team has going for it up to this point.
Team grade: F
Los Angeles Angels
Team Summary: Wow what a farm system but as of now this team is just to young, I cant see your pitching staff getting you very far untill teheran and mcnutt are proven. Also don't have much offense aside from pence, your team is very balance and once your prospects come up and if they can compete you are a dark horse this year but most likely next year and years to come.
Team Grade: D+
Oakland Athletics
Team Summary: This team has the most salary cap to spend so this owner should have a field day when Free agency opens up this team has gotten a lot better by drafting a true ace in in Kershaw. Although I think Ivan Nova was a bad pick in the second round by Oakland, they would have been better off going with brandon beachy who went on to be picked by the very next team that drafted. (TOR) This Oakland pitching is beastly, buttttt the offense has me worried they just seem like they cant score runs and melky cabrera isn't the answer but its a start. I like this team but it just cant keep up with those rangers, sorry to say the A’s and billy bean will miss the playoffs once again...
Team grade: C-
Toronto Blue Jays
Team Summary: With the departure of cain, longoria and hellickson I sure hope this team can win a game... Losing there three best players must hurt and I do not believe this team can compete anytime in the next 5 years.
Team grade: F-
Seattle Mariners
Team Summary: This team is super young with conger, ackley, pineda and smoak but does this team have enough talent? I dont think so with the rangers loaded year in and out this team just cant compete. Getting miggy cabrera, sherzer and marmol is a good start just need to wait it out and dont be eager to trade all your young players just to compete this year. Just sit back and in 2 years with high dispersal picks you will compete in 2014 fersure.
Team Grade: D+
washington Nationals
Team Summary: This team is offensively gifted after going out and drafting Stanton and brandon phillips with there first two picks. If you want to even come close to competing you must get pitching, I can tell you know that as you went out and drafted one with your 3rd rounder but it just might be a little to late. Week in and out you will win the HR category but the with adam dunn and figgins starting you can kiss the AVG category away, but hey that comes with alot of power hitters.
Team grade: C
New York Mets
Team Summary: First off didn't think the dispersal draft helped you as much as it should have, with no 2nd baseman and 3 outfielder's who had down years last year i would think you would draft but instead you went the opposite way and got two Starting pitchers and a 3rd baseman (don't you have wright)? It looks like you have a lot of cap left lets hope you can spend some of it and get some quality outfielder's and a 2nd baseman if you can do that you will improve from last years divisional ranking.
Team grade: C
Cleveland Indians
Team Summary: With one of the hardest schedule and division this team will all likely be on the bottom all year and decline from last year. The indians have a superb Relief core and have some great outfeilders if only choo could perform like he did back in 2010. If everything goes right this team might compete with twins for the second to last spot in the division.
Team grade C-
Minnesota Twins
Team Summary: I can tell by the way twins drafts he knows what he needs to be successful, if only he could trade morneau away and make some profit off of him that would be ideal at this point in time. This owner missed his first pick of the dispersal draft and that might be the deciding factor from finishing in the middle of his division to finishing in the lower part of the the AL central. If this owner knows how to trade this twinkies team has a lot of intresting players that can be valuable to the right person, find that right person and you may just compete for a playoff birth. (Wild card)
Team grade: C+
Chicago White Sox
Team summary: This team drafted perfectly they needed a a starting pitcher they got lester, they needed a SS so they picked stephen drew and they need depth at outfeild and they got tabata. I have mixed feeling about this team a few of the players on this team offensively are inconsistent and or injury prone so if everyone stays healthy and can put up numbers like last year this team could make a run. Now those are all big iffs but i like this team and what this owner has done to balance his respective team.
Team grade C+
New York Yankees
Team summary: Now this is weird the yanks draft pablo sandoval , is this a sign Arod could be on the way out with that hefty 30+ mil contract good luck getting him outta town might as well put sandoval at your DH position or wait till Aroid gets suspended again for steroids. Im thinking pablo is just a little insurance. So this team finished with a dead even record last year, I predict the same outcome maybe they can trade away Arod and some old players for some young pitching then they would be in business. I think this team just falls short of the playoffs
Team grade: B-
San Diego Padres
Team summary: After missing there 2nd round dispersal pick I can honestly say this team has no hope this season... This team will finish right above the SF giants in second to last place in the NL west. This draft was almost no help to this franchise.
Team grade: D
Florida Marlins
Team summary: Just looking at the lineup and pitching this team is young and will compete for years to come with a good amount of spending money in free agency look for this team to acquire a much needed power bat. This team also has a deep bench including the following names: neil walker, austin jackson and mike rivera. The marlins finished with an 11-9 record last year look for this team to take the division with ease. Not to be biased
Team grade: A
Baltimore Orioles
Team summary: a whole lot of questionable players on the offense but if this offense can even be semi good this pitching staff will carry them like the giants in the 2010 season. With a four headed monster at pitching i can see this team competing with the red sox for the division, this team needs to trade some of those questionable offensive players and upgrade in order to compete in the playoffs if they even plan on making it that far. Also on a side note missing there 2nd and 3rd round dispersal picks could be the reason this team crumbles in august. If they don't make the playoffs this year they will the next year with all there youth.
Team grade: B+
Philadelphia Phillies
Team summary: This team is getting old on offense and there pitching doesn't look as dominant as last year i see this team having a disappointing season to say the least. If this team cant trade away some prospects for some quality arms and injury replacements I see the marlins passing him in mid june and not looking back.
Team grade: B
Milwaukee Brewers
Team summary: One thing to say commish trade! If you don't you wont be able to compete with the cards and cubs. Didn't think you got the right pieces in the dispersal draft i was scratching my head on the nyjer morgan pick, I thought you should have waited on nyjer and gotten a closer in the 3rd round. But your biggest need is SS and a top starting pitcher and you could compete with the cards and cubs. trade is the key
Team grade: B
Texas Rangers
Team summary: This team will easily run away with the division but will be beat in the first round of the playoffs due to the fact they didn't draft in the dispersal draft. This fact hurt this team tremendously if they had a few solid picks we could be talking about this team being the team to beat, but now were just talking about a team that will make it to the playoffs and be a none factor.
team grade: B
St. Louis Cardinals
Team summary: I think this team had a really bad draft, this team needed to acquire starting pitching instead they got two great relief guys and a catcher (alex avila). I can see they are thin in the pen but what if your draft picks were as followed: 1.rst round matt cain instead of avila , 2nd round rasmus instead of jansen and 3rd round yunel escobar instead of bard . If you drafted this way you would have trade bait and you could easily trade a colby rasmus for a releif pitcher of your liking and someone who you need. Just think you could have been better thats it, your offense is still stacked and your overall team is very good.
Team grade: B+
Boston Red Sox
Team summary: I think this team has great depth at the middle infield position, a great pitching staff and a great lineup gran it there getting old... I do know one thing this year this team is playoff bound and wont stop at the first round there looking at the big picture. Not the greatest minors but for now there in the playoffs easily unless the yanks can pull a rabbit out of there hat.
team grade: A
Chicago Cubs
Team summary: Another team who won there division and didn't use there dispersal draft picks, this is discouraging as if this team drafted they had an easy street to the playoffs... Now I'm thinking if brewers can make a few trades to make his team better that cubs doesn't make the playoffs, i just don't see this team winning any pitching categories all his pitchers are on horrible teams. Not to mention he has no closer, but i do like the balance on offence just has holes at SS and possibly utility.
Team grade: B+
Colorado Rockies
Team summary: I love that this team got even more young after this draft, although it isn't over I think this owner did a great job in getting kimbrel late 1rst round and getting young quality hitters in the 3rd rounder. This teams pitchers may get the most strikeouts of any team as they have what I like to call the best staff in the game a 5 headed monster! lincy, Straus, greinke, jordan zimmerman and porcello. If this team gets a deep bench and aquires another alstar Outfielder this team may never lose...
Team grade A+
Kansas City Royals
Team summary: This team by far has the best relief pitching, but will that win you a league I'm sorry it wont. Although this team has three of the best closers and starting pitchers this team will fall short of the WS, I say they make the playoffs but barely. They then get booted out of the playoffs with a bang by the red sox. If they play the Rangers it will be a close match-up but doubtful. This team needs an upgrade at outfield, utility and a Shortstop before you really start worrying about this team. (Hint trade a reliever)
Team grade: B+
