In 2012, we will have our regular 25 man MLB Rosters. One thing that is still debatable is the 40-man roster. I would like to mix that up with an idea I had. My idea would be have the 25 MLB rosters, a 5 or 6 man roster and a 10 man minor league roster (Then you would have the rest of your minors). Let me explain them.
25-man- Same as we have had the past couple years, only 25 active MLB players.
AAAA- 5 or 6 guys that are in the MLB, but are in your minors. These guys would not accumulate stats for your MLB team, but would be in your minors on this separate roster. In other words, this would be your "practice squad."Along with that, we could need a Service time (years played) minimum on this so teams don't stack great young players on this roster. To take someone off of this roster, you must call them up or release them (With you paying half the salary)
10-man MiLB?- No, this is not all of your minor league system, but in order to call a prospect that is ready up to your 25-man roster, they must be on this. This is a version of the MLB's 40-man roster, minus the MLB players. I'm not sure if this is necessary but I will let you guys think about it.
P.S. I realized lately that we have our World Series go up to the last day of the season and we should change that since most teams give playing time to September Call ups. Let me know if you guys are in favor of moving the World Series up a week or two and that would also remove a couple regular season games. We had 20 season games last year.

Just keep a 25 man and 40 man. If someone goes down on your 25 man you just call someone up. Id you have a mlb player not on your 25 man you aren't "hiding" him since we finally used our heads and used mlb service time to determine arbitration so if he is playing in the majors your paying him regardless.

Alright, I guess we'll keep this. Should we have a limit on the amount of MLB players in our minors?
