It is no where near different and you insult my intelligence by implying an 8th round pick evens this trade up.

No one has but they are trying to sneak it thru by having certain owners come on to vote.

Red Sox Get Jose Reyes 11, 11, 11 James Shields 9, 11, 13 Jack Egbert min Rick Vandenhurk min Mets Get Josh Beckett 17, 17, 17 Anthony rizzo min (09/16/2011 Baseball America Triple-A All-Star)(also hitting .333 this off season) Casey Kelly min (ranked No. 21 among Top 50 Prospects by MLB.com entering 2011 season.) Brandon Jacobs min (08/30/2011--SAL Post-Season All-Star 06/20/2011--SAL Mid-Season All-Star) Yunel Escobar Arb (2.9 in 2011) Brett Anderson 1.25, 3.25, 5.75 Daniel McCutchen min Chris Hernandez min (06/20/2011 CAR Mid-Season All-Star) 8th round pick 2012 ok all these players are all stars in minors and can possible be every day players in the majors one day you do realize that there is a lot less players to chose from to be a post season all star. I cant speak for everyone else, only for myself but nobody argued that some of these guys didnt have good years this year. my point was that they have only had one good year (not even about a ball), are not ranked in their teams top 10 specs (at least the red sox specs case). sure anyone one of those guys could play in the majors, i could also win the lottery. also if you want to throw rizzos offseason numbers in there why didnt you post his AAA numbers this year? they were awesome. oh wait because he hit like .180 when he got called up then ripped the cover off the ball when he got sent back down. his value is severely dimished until he looks remotely decent versus mlb pitching

The point is this. You are friends with a few of the people even making dispersal picks for them. To me it looks like excluding one or two, you tried to rally enough people to push the trade thru before people could veto. I hate to use the word collusion with some of the other owners but you have stated you are friends with a few of the other owners so we are supposed to believe they will be objective?

I am not colluding if telling my side of the story to them then they vote the way I wanted is collusion then we have different definitions. I did not give them anything to vote my way.

I would love to have a trade committee, but people have always threatened to leave. Every rule change, or every problem I have to solve, people leave. For example, the Yankees just PM'd me and said if the trade went through, he'd leave. People are so easily offended. You guys need to learn that everything can't be the way you like it here. Trades will go through that you don't like, that may effect your division. You have to live with it. I also agree that just an added draft pick doesn't change it. The only reason I approved this trade is because I value prospects and Jose Reyes is injury prone. Red Sox is taking a chance, and Mets is trying to cash in a wonderful season. This trade could be easily approved or vetoed.
